DIVnÁ / Weird
The series Divná / Weird is, in a way, our personal statement. In these photographs, we try to show the feelings and inner states we experienced during a certain period of our lives. It was a more emotionally difficult time, and capturing these feelings in images felt like the most natural way to express them. It reflected our mood and the way we saw the world at that time.
In this series, we intentionally worked with rawness and strong color. The photographs were again taken with a large-format analog camera, but this time in color. We feel that the color supports the atmosphere of the images and helps express our ideas and moods in a harsher, almost surreal space.
The place where the photographs were taken also played an important role. The series was created in the space of Kafka Hospital, where the writer Franz Kafka once worked. This unexpected connection between the place, its history, and its atmosphere was very inspiring for us and naturally influenced the final form of the photographs.
